Things I Hate

I hate it when oppressed groups oppress other oppressed groups. And I hate when oppressed groups hate members of their groups.

Starting on the first point, let me just give a quick example: when blacks (an oppressed group) work to prevent the rights (oppress) of gays (another oppressed group). I cannot comprehend the idea that person who has felt hatred from other people based on an unchangeable factor about them has the ability to hate another person based on their unchangeable factor. That makes no sense to me. I mean, following this example, it was not that long ago, about 50 or 60 years, that blacks were legally allowed to marry whites. So there are people who are alive today who have fought for their interracial marriage, but will still work to prevent equal marriage for another oppressed group? That’s fucking stupid.

For the second point, what really bothers me in this sense specifically is when women, usually radical feminists, hate stay at home mothers. How the fuck are you going to fight for equality if you can’t even treat other women with the respect you want?? I mean honestly, in this day and age, with so many resources for a woman to go and get an education and jump into any career she desires, but still chooses to stay at home, it’s most likely because she wants to not because she is forced to or because staying at home is all she can do. Not all women want to go out and join the work force and for people to hate a woman for making that choice for herself that affects no one but herself and her familyis ridiculous. And just for the record, I’ve been raised in a family where the women value working and being a stay at home mother is not the lifestyle for me, so I’m not making this argument in defense for myself.
